Rocky Mount, North Carolina, is made up of Edgecombe County and Nash County, both of which bring wonderful community and traditions to the city. History is something the residents of Rocky Mount want to preserve and honor. One of the many ways they do this is by nominating well-deserved community members into the Twin Counties Hall of Fame, showcasing the impact and contributions they have left on Rocky Mount. Rocky Mount Event Center is excited to host the Hall of Fame Banquet on November 7th, 2019, to honor these extraordinary citizens.
About the Twin Counties Hall of Fame
The Twin Counties Hall of Fame was started in 2004, honoring nine exceptional individuals who went above-and-beyond the call of an ordinary Twin Counties citizen. The Hall of Fame was formed to honor these men and women for their continued efforts and support in the Rocky Mount area. The Hall of Fame believes in two major goals: preserving the diversity in these two counties and honoring citizens who have made lasting contributions. This recognition is a motivator for the younger community to get involved in Rocky Mount, not just improving their character, but also the community as a whole.
Hall of Fame Categories
There are seven separate categories for induction into for the Twin Counties Hall of Fame:
- Agriculture
- Cultural Arts
- Business & Industry
- Education
- Law & Public Service
- Medical
- Sports
Being in North Carolina, there is a rich history in all of these fields. Each of the seven categories explains just how large of an impact the inductees have made in the community. From cultural influencers to business tycoons and Hall of Fame Athletes, Rocky Mount has it all. Not only have these inductees left an impact on the culture of the Twin Counties, but they have also influenced the people. How to Nominate
To be considered to be a Hall of Fame Inductee, you must be nominated by a member of the Rocky Mount community. The only requirement the nominee needs to meet is having a lasting and broad impact on the town. When you have such a positive impact on the community, it will leave a lasting impression on the citizens and the overall culture. Twin Counties Hall of Fame wants to honor both living and deceased members of the community, so if you have someone you feel has left an impact, nominate them!
