After Booking Your Wedding Venue: Making Invitations
After you book your wedding venue, there’s still a lot to do. Booking your wedding venue was an important first step, but now you’ll need to start making your invitations. If you’re not sure where to start, check out the Rocky Mount Event Center blog. We’re here to offer some advice.
Where are You Getting the Invitations?
Your first decision is whether you want to make the invitations yourself or if you’d rather let a professional shop handle it. There are pros and cons to each option.
Making your wedding invitations yourself will certainly make them more personalized. It also will undoubtedly be cheaper than having them professionally done. The biggest downside is that it will probably take a significant amount of time. If you’re short on time, you may want to contact a shop instead.
Having your wedding invitations professionally done has a lot of benefits, too. You can guarantee that they’ll look great, and they’ll be ready quicker than if you make them yourself. The downside here is the expense. If you can afford to have them professionally made, this is usually the preferable option.
Include the Necessary Information
There are several things you’ll need to include in your wedding invitations. This includes:
- The names of the bride and groom
- The wedding venue
- The date and time
- Where the reception will be
- An RSVP form
You don’t want to leave anything out of your wedding invitation, otherwise it’ll end up causing confusion for your guests. That’s the last thing you want to do. The most important things are the wedding venue and the date and time.
Send Them Out
After you’ve made your invitations, or after you’ve gotten them back from the shop, it’s time to send them out. You’ll want to do this well ahead of time. This gives people enough time to ask for time off work, make travel plans, and reply with their RSVP.
